Photography is my passion, I just wish I had more time to concentrate on it. One thing I always have time for is to grab my camera bag whenever I hit the door and head out somewhere. Whether it be a trip to the local park, a long walk along the beautiful nearby jogging/bike trails, the fabulous Columbus zoo or a trip into the hustle and bustle of the city. I find everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary, which both can be amazing subject matter. Light plays a huge part in the way things are seen through photography and I love the way horizontal and vertical lines lead the eye, especially in photos of buildings, bridges, paths and trees. I really like that you never know what you will come across while roaming with your camera. I am happy to come across a beautiful caterpillar or butterfly and amazed when I spot a crane on the tiny island in the lake at our local park. I was lucky enough to get a quick photo of a magnificent snow owl in my own back yard. It had been snowing like crazy with blizzard conditions and while I was washing dishes admiring the giant snowflakes outside my kitchen window, this snow owl landed on our 6ft wooden fence and I luckily had my camera on the kitchen table because I had takes some pics of the red cardinals at our bird feeders earlier that morning. I was only able to get off a few quick shots and he was gone. If I had not had my camera ready, I would have missed it! This is why I love to keep my camera ready and take it almost everywhere I go. You never know what you may come across in your day to day journey. From sunrise to sunset, I find some pretty cool unplanned moments to capture. Here are a few of my favorites and I would love you to share your favorites as well. I really like that the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II features an all metal body which is sealed for protection against moisture and dust while I am roaming around in the elements.
