 Having little girls with lots of hair, I was happy to try The Detangler-Detangling Brush/Comb from The Detangler by Holdee.  I really like how this brush is the perfect shape to fit in my hand while I am brushing out the girls thick super curly hair. It gets right down to the scalp and right through to the ends.

Our 3 and 6 yr old hate to get their hair combed and they actually ask for this brush, so that tells me a lot about how it works.  It does not pull as much and gets those tangles out better than any other comb or brush we have been using.  I think this would make a great gift for anyone who gets tangles.  It comes in different colors and patterns and it's not just for girls.
