This was my first batch, I over filled the molds, just a little bit....I will adjust the amount in the next batch.
These Donuts are from the first batch I made, not the prettiest but they tasted delicious!
Again, these are from the first batch that I overfilled the mold just a little bit, I used cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg for a topping and plain sugar for some. I had an idea from these ones that were over filled and didn't make much of a hole in the center, that the centers could be filled with something like jam or cream, custard, peanut butter, cream cheese etc.
For this second batch, I just added some raw cocoa powder and a little bit of oil to the original batter.
I filled these with less batter this time!
WOW! The second batch came out perfect. 19 minutes baking time at 350. I flipped the pan over onto my wooden cutting board and they all popped out in one piece!
As you can see, this second batch did way better and released from the sides of the mold and left a perfect donut hole.
These tasted great!

Perfect Homemade Chocolate Donut

Next time....a healthy version
The little girls just had to decorate some, so I let them pick 2 each to decorate....
Since I love to bake even more than I love to cook, I knew I just had to try this 8 Cup Silicone Donut Baking Pan. The first batch I made I overfilled the mold just a little bit and they did not keep a nice donut shape and the hole was small. The second batch I added some raw cocoa powder and a little bit of oil to the original batter.
I filled the mold with a little less batter than I did in the first batch and baked them for 19 minutes at 350 degrees. I opened up the oven and they were perfect! I gently flipped the pan over onto my wooden cutting board and all 8 mini donuts released and popped out onto the board! Our little girls cheered!
The mini donuts took a few minutes to cool and they tasted great! I love the way this pan works and it is super easy to use and clean up. We had a lot of fun baking with this new silicone donut pan and I already have some fun and creative ideas for holidays and healthy versions for every day! I think this pan would make a nice gift for the baker in your life and a fabulous addition to any kitchen.
